Caronte & Tourist

The Caronte & Tourist S.p.A. has been performing private ferry business for forty years. The ship owner's challenge of the Caronte S.p.A. and Tourist Ferry Boat S.p.A. begins on June 19, 1965, day in which the Marina di Scilla, one of the Caronte company ships, makes her opening voyage across the Strait of Messina, connecting the ports of Messina and Reggio Calabria as an alternative to the Ferrovie dello Stato (rail service). In 1968 the Tourist Ferry Boat opens the new Messina - Villa San Giovanni trade. The choice of the new route represents an improvement of the service, since it allows to realize a faster and more efficient ferry given the reduction of the distance and then of ferry times. Over the years, with the development of the road transport as an alternative to the rail one, and also thanks to the more and more efficient ferry service across the Strait of Messina, the commercial traffic to and from Sicily progressively increases; and in a short time all the means move to the new route and the Messina - Reggio Calabria is gradually abandoned.

DFDS

DFDS’ shipping network integrates freight and passenger services. They deliver high frequency and reliable freight services to haulage and forwarding companies. They also develop and deliver industrial logistics solutions in close co-operation with producers of heavy industrial goods. For passengers, they provide great maritime experiences as well as transport services for passengers travelling by car wanting to travel around Europe and Scandinavia. In 1866 several small Danish shipping companies merged to form what has come to be the oldest major shipping company in Denmark: DFDS - "Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab" (The United Steamship Company). DFDS is still sailing on some of the same routes begun in the 1800s. The level of development in DFDS between 1966 and 2006 has been more rapid in all areas than in the preceding 100 years combined.

Finnlines

The ro-ro services concentrate in transportation between Finland and its major trading partners in Europe. TT-Line

Polferries

Polferries is the largest Polish ferry operator. The Polish Baltic Shipping Company was established on 31 January 1976 as a state-owned shipping company. Under the operating name Polferries, the company runs ferry routes across the Baltic Sea between Poland and Scandinavia. In 1996 Polferries approved as quality assurance system by the International Safety Management Code (ISM). In May 1997 the company was recognised as meeting the requirements of the Quality Management Certificate ISO 9002. It became legally recognised as a corporate body in 1992.

SCANDLINES

Scandlines stands as a symbol of a historical and close cooperation between Denmark, Germany and Sweden since 1872. Under the names Scandlines and Scandlines Helsingør-Helsingborg three short ferry routes are marketed with high capacity and frequency and with a green vision for the future. The core business is to provide an efficient and reliable transport service for both passengers and freight customers. The main focus for all activities in Scandlines is to create value for their customers on board the ferries as well as in the shops of Scandlines. Wight Link

We are the main link between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. Every year, we carry over 4.8 million passengers, making us one of the UK’s largest domestic ferry operators. We provide Island residents with an easy and frequent service to the mainland, as well as giving millions of holidaymakers a taste of Island life. Crossings take approximately 22 minutes by catamaran and from 40 minutes by car ferry. And we operate three convenient routes and just under 48,000 crossings a year.
